How to use My Life Prayer.
A short tour of the five quiet motions — capture, return, pray, track, feel progress — and the features that hold them together.
Getting started
Download My Life Prayer from the App Store and sign in with Apple, Google, or email. Your account syncs across all your iOS devices in real time. Today the full app is free.
- Tap the + button to add your first prayer.
- Type or use the microphone to capture what's on your heart.
- Run a focused session when you're ready to actually pray.
- Mark prayers as answered when God moves.
The prayer deck
The Today screen holds the prayers you've captured. Tap any card to read the full prayer, add a note, or send it to a session. There's no infinite scroll and no notifications — the deck waits for you.
Focused sessions
Choose a few prayers, hit Start, and they appear one card at a time:
- Swipe left — mark this prayer as prayed (Amen).
- Swipe right — skip it for now.
- Tap the music icon — choose one of twelve ambient tracks (soaking piano, river, dreamscape, and more). Audio plays in the background and works with the silent switch on.
- At the end — write a short reflection note if you want, then put the phone down.
Capture with voice
On the Add Prayer screen, tap the microphone. Speak whatever's on your heart — long, messy, unedited. Tap Tidy and our AI helper (Google Gemini) reshapes the wording without changing what you meant. You always keep the original draft.
Marking answered prayers
Open any prayer, tap the status badge, choose Answered. The date is logged automatically. You can keep adding notes after the fact — answered prayers stay searchable and visible in your history.
Streaks and progress
The You tab shows a gentle calendar-day streak (one prayed day per calendar day, timezone-aware). There's no scolding and no “you broke your streak” popup. Just a quiet record.
Privacy and security
Your prayers are encrypted at rest on our self-hosted Appwrite backend in Frankfurt. We never share them, sell them, or use them to train any AI. Face ID or Touch ID can be enabled in Settings as a biometric lock. You can delete your account permanently from Settings at any time.
Languages
The app is shipping in English today. Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Bengali, Arabic, and Russian are queued up for localization in upcoming releases.
What's coming with v1.1
The Premium tier launches with v1.1 and adds:
- Folders to organize prayers by theme, person, or season.
- Scripture templates for praying through specific passages.
- The Praise Wall — a gallery of every answered prayer.
- Lock-screen & home-screen widgets for iOS.
- A December year-in-prayer review.
- Android alongside the existing iOS app.
